In His Own Words
"I think I fell in love with soccer the first time I touched a ball. I can't remember a time when I didn't adore the game, and it's hard to find a photo from my childhood where I'm not cradling or kicking a ball. I often see a little brother or sister on the sidelines of a sibling's game, longingly watching the action,a ball tucked under one arm. When this happens I make eye contact and point my feet, and before I know it those kids and I are passing that ball back and forth. Not a word is spoken, but the smiles on their faces say it all. The language of futbol is powerful and pure, and those interactions represent the joy the game has brought me for my entire life. Every single time I step on the field and breathe in the scent of the grass, the sensation I had when I first came into contact with a ball, that love,is renewed."

In His Own Words
"The first soccer ball I ever owned was one that had different flags of the world on it in every hexagram. Based on how hard it was and how much it peeled over time, I can safely assume it was not an expensive one, but that did not matter as it was all my parents could afford. Honestly, I wish I would have conserved it to this day. I would have liked to see how many people from those different countries I have now met-all through futbol. The joy that the game has brought to my life and now I'm able to share it with my two boys,8 and 2, is a feeling I love to see reflected on the faces of the players I've coached. Once on the field, it doesn't matter where you come from,we are there for a common purpose and we communicate through the universal language—fútbol."

In His Own Words
"I first fell in love with soccer when I moved to The Netherlands from Eritrea as a small child. I remember that my mom.with the little means she had, would always buy me soccer balls to play with, and right from the beginning I loved the purity and perfection of the game. I didn't speak a word of Dutch, but I saw kids playing soccer, and that connected me to them right away. The ball brought us together. We shared the same passion, and no language or explanation was needed. All of us understood how to play the game, and it was beautiful. Soccer is exactly that:a universal game that allows anyone to play anywhere. Whether you're rich or poor,no matter what background you have, all you really need is a ball. I love that!"

In his own words
"I am positive that I didn’t learn to love futbol, instead I believe I was born with the passion.  In 2009, I was able to attend Argentinian First Division Final match where Velez Sarsfield beat Huracan.  The intensity and loyalty of the fans, as well as the heart and commitment of the players reignited my love for the game.  This match is my fondest memory yet, as it was the moment where I realized the passion I was witnessing was the type of passion I wanted to transmit to my players through coaching.  Futbol taught me that nothing is granted, everything is earned and anything can be achieved.  This is the reason why futbol will always be part of my life."

" I will always remember my childhood years running after a soccer ball on Mazatlan beach where I was born and raised. Those are my favorite memories because from that moment there was no turning back. I've been 40 years in love with soccer and the fact of knowing that I can also teach this amazing sport is one of my everyday mottos. I honestly do not know how many more years I am going to be here but I want you to know that I will never leave it because soccer is a natural passion for me. Well, I guess it is not all about soccer because there are important things in my life such as FAMILY,RELIGION, VALUES, and FRIENDS. I feel very lucky because I am able to share my knowledge and experiences of soccer and I never want to stop learning. The opportunity to pass this on to a new generation is something that as a coach means the world to me because I feel that soccer is not only a sport but a lifestyle."
